            What TIFC Believes

            THE BIBLE

TIFC believes the Bible, containing sixty-six books as commonly received in the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God. Hence the Bible contains all things necessary to salvation so that whatsoever is not read therein, nor may be proved thereby, is not to be required of any man, that it should be believed as an article of the Faith, or be thought requisite or necessary to salvation.

             THE GODHEAD

TIFC believes in one God revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit and in the Lord Jesus Christ in Whom "dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily..." (Colossians 2:9)

             SALVATION

TIFC believes in salvation; that is, in the necessity of the new birth, or regeneration, by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ as provided by His atonement (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 5:9-11). The grace of God that bringeth salvation teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world (Romans 12:1, 2, II Timothy 4:7; Titus 2:12, Hebrews 12:1, 2).

            BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

TIFC believes in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, His indwelling Presence and that the manifestations of the Holy spirit are given to every believer to profit withal (Matthew 3:11, Acts 1:8, 2:4, 38; 1 Corinthians 11:7-11).

            SACRAMENTS AND ORDINANCES

TIFC believes in Baptism in water by immersion (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3, 4) and in the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:19-20; I Corinthians 10:16; 11: 23-32), as being the Two Sacraments instituted by Jesus Christ for His Church.

TIFC believes also in the anointing of the sick with oil (Mark 6:13; James 5:14, 15) and in the laying on of hands for healing (Mark 16:18; Acts 28:8) and Ordination to the Ministry (Acts 6:6; 13:1; 1 Timothy 4:14) as Ordinances of the Church.

            THE MINISTRY

TIFC believes that the five-fold ministries of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher are given to the church "for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11,12; 1 Corinthians 12:28).

            THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

TIFC believes in the literal Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth again (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:13-17; Hebrews 9:28) and in the rewarding of the righteous and the just punishment of the wicked.
